Destruction of CivilizationsThe Age of Exploration also brought the demise of many civilizations, such as the Mayans, Aztecs, Incas, Spanish explorers, conquistadors (literally "conquerors") played a big role in the end of their civilizations, such as Pizarro and Cortes. They used tactics, such as spreading disease, to dominate. Eventually all of the natives were killed or died due to general depletion of sources 'till utter extinction.

Creation of New RacesSeveral new races were bred in the process. To put this into perspective, the encomienda system, a dependency relation system that was revved up in Spain during the reign of the Roman Empire, exists. There were ranks like the mulattoes which were of African American and Hispanic descent. And the mestizos, which were born of Spanish and Native American parents. Today, there are more than 55 million Hispanics in the world.

Cultural DiffusionExploration and trade, have always stimulated cultural diffusion. By doing so the inspiration for new ideals and innovation is found. For example, colonists from England learned how to farm the land and produce crops from the Native Americans. Additionally, the need for weapons often comes for protection ever-growing empires. Thus the Age of Discovery has launched us into our technological present.
